Recharged

I am Rissa

Hey girl hey (or man, we are gender inclusive around here). My name is Nerissa, but you can call me Rissa for short. I am a California-based mom, a wife and a Corporate professional who encourages women to live out-loud by prioritizing wellness and weight-loss on their own terms. Rissa Recharged is my online platform where I share a diverse range of content around fitness, health, lifestyle and everything in between. Whether I am encouraging you to try a new recipe, challenging you to a 30-day workout challenge or simply raving about my newest beauty obsession, I share content that is meant to inspire you to live your best life.

When I am not chasing after my 4 kids or traveling with my husband, I love staying active by working out. As someone who has successfully lost over 100 lbs in the last 2 years, fitness and physical health are a major part of my life. From making me feel amazing to inspiring me to prioritize my own health and wellness, living a healthy lifestyle keeps me fulfilled, inspired and ready to tackle my goals.

While fitness and health are major parts of my life now, things were not always this way. A few years ago, I found myself in a place of desperation over my weight without a clear path forward on how to fix it. Like most busy moms, I spent all my time and energy pouring into everything and everybody else and rarely prioritized ME. As a result, my weight reached 266 lbs, the heaviest I had ever been. I didn’t have the energy to race my kids down the street or be as active as I wanted to with my husband. I did not feel comfortable in my own body and my self-esteem really took a hit. One day when I looked in the mirror and no longer recognized the woman in front of me and I knew that I had to make a change.

With the support of my husband, I decided to take things into my own hands and undergo Gastric Sleeve surgery ( my husband actually got the surgery too). Since undergoing surgery, I have lost over 105 lbs by staying active and committed to living a healthier lifestyle. My husband has also lost more than 100 lbs and is feeling great.

Undergoing Gastric Sleeve surgery and developing a strong commitment to health and fitness over the last few years has given me a whole new lease on life. I no longer struggle to stay active with my kids. My improved self-esteem has strengthened my marriage and I truly feel like I can tackle whatever goal I set my mind to. Prioritizing my wellness has allowed me to become a new and improved version of myself and now I enjoy encouraging other women to do the same.

I'm your girl if...

  • You’ve tried every diet and nothing works

  • You feel unmotivated, frustrated, and defeated and you don’t know what to do

  • You have ever started a diet and lost motivation

  • Went to the gym or even hired a trainer with little results

  • You have lost weight and gained it back

  • Your confidence is shot due to your weight.

  • You are starting to have health problems due to your weight

  • You hate going shopping because you struggle to find anything flattering

Trust me, I get it...

When it comes to losing weight and establishing a healthy lifestyle, you have to be focused on more than just the number on the scale. While shedding the weight feels great, it feels even better to create a healthy lifestyle that leaves you feeling motivated, inspired and ready to tackle anything. The motivation has to come from YOU! There is happiness, confidence and overall fulfillment on the other side of prioritizing yourself and I hope to share content that inspires you along the way.

You too can become recharged towards achieving the best version of yourself
